The Story Behind Our Silver Toyota Supra MK4 (A80) We purchased this silver Toyota Supra MK4 back in 2016 for approximately £3,000. It's a naturally aspirated, automatic, non-VVTi 2JZ-GE model. Interestingly, we never originally intended to keep this car. We bought it mainly for its factory glass headlights and some rear suspension components that we needed for our other Supra MK4. However, once we got the car home and had a proper look at it, we realised it was in surprisingly good condition. It seemed a shame to strip such a good example for parts, so we decided to keep it instead. For several years, the Supra spent most of its time parked safely in the garage, rarely seeing the road. Around two years ago, we finally decided to start driving it regularly and enjoying it for what it is. Despite being the naturally aspirated automatic version, there's something special about driving a MK4 Supra. It might not be the fastest car on the road, but the driving experience, styling and character make it enjoyable every time we take it out. One Thing We've Learned Cars are meant to be driven, not parked! Over the years, we've learned that leaving a car sitting unused for long periods can actually create more problems than driving it regularly. Seals, brakes, batteries and other components can deteriorate simply from lack of use. Keeping a car tucked away in a garage doesn't necessarily mean it's being preserved. Where Is It Today? Our silver Supra is still part of the PoorManSuperCar collection, and we're glad we made the decision not to break it for parts back in 2016. What started as a £3,000 donor car has turned into a car we've owned for over a decade, with plenty of memories along the way. It's not a show car, it's not a 1,000 bhp monster, and it doesn't need to be. It's simply a Supra MK4 that we enjoy owning and driving. And sometimes, that's more than enough.
